Dawn L's Diary Entries

May 24, 2001

37 weeks

I had another appointment today. I was hoping to see some progress since I've been in intense pain since last week. Everytime I stand up I'm in pain. I moved furniture today and stayed on my feet the last few days in hopes of getting things started, obviously that didn't work, because I'm still here.

I gained 4 pounds since last Tuesday, but I also had a big lunch at our teacher's workday today. I'll have a better idea next week because I go in in the morning. So I've gained 11 pounds total. I'm not upset or surprisd really, because my tummy has DEFINANTLY grown since last week when I was measuring 40 weeks. In fact, I am now measurng 44 weeks!!! That's no typo. I'm measuring SEVEN weeks ahead. I grew four weeks worth in one week. I'm just floored.

My blood pressure was 130/80. That's up from last week, but apparently it didn't set off any bells, because they didn't say anything. I'm still only a finger-tip dialated. So I am upset, of course, because I was really hoping that this pain was from changes my body was going through. So I started crying. It didn't seem to do any good. She set me up for a sonogram for tomorrow. I'll update with that information then.

I have a estimated birthdate for my sweetheart. I'm set up for Tuesday, June 5th to be induced. I have no doubts now that I'll make it until then... *sigh*

It's okay. I'll make it until then. We have some fun stuff to do next week, so that should help time go by faster. I asked Kirt to take off at 4 p.m. on Monday the 4th so we could have a nice evening, just the three of us. Then he'll be off until the next week at least.

(One week and four days until I get to hold my baby girl)
