Dawn L's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

June 4, 2001

38 weeks, 4 days

This is my last day as a mom of one. I'm excited, but also a little sad that this chapter of my life is ending. Last week the doctor's office called and said they were moving my c-section to noon so that Dr. Parr could have an assistant. The lady said I needed to be there at 10 a.m. instead. I went ahead and called this morning because she seemed confused about the sonogram. I wanted to make sure things were set. Lucky for me I did because the nurse called over to labor and delivery and found out they still expect me at 7 a.m. to do the sonogram at 7:30 or 8 a.m. Apparently if the baby's flipped then they will want to start the pitocin earlier than the scheduled surgery time.
I really couldn't tell you if she has flipped again or not. She's been super active at night, and I thought I felt hiccups really low Saturday night. I don't really know how I would feel if she did turn head down. I guess I'd be happy I didn't have to be cut open (nice, huh?), but bummed that I had to have labor. As long as I don't have to leave the hospital pregnant I don't care HOW she comes out.
Now for predictions: I think she'll be around 9-9 1/2 pounds, about 21 inches. For some reason I think she'll have darker hair than her sister and possibly greenish eyes. I have green eyes, Kirt has hazel eyes, and Baylie has blue eyes (no telling why that happened). Kirt has dark brown hair and I had light brown/blonde hair like Baylie's when I was little. Baylie was a good baby, but I think this one will be more laid back than she was. Baylie was always dancing up a storm in my belly, but Camryn seems much more relaxed. She doesn't feel the need to boogie around. She mostly just shoves me.
So we're all ready to go tomorrow. The house is clean, the bags are packed and a special meal is planned for dinner tonight. Next time we check in we'll be a foursome!
