Dawn L's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 17, 2000

5 weeks, 5 days

I am so excited to be doing this diary. I'm sure this first submission will be a long one. I didn't want to put too many details in my introduction, so I saved them for here. I have been a regular chatter on several boards including the preconception TTM boards, the TTC after a miscarriage board and now the PG after a miscarriage board. If you have never been to these boards ...GO! The ladies on there are the best! They are so wonderful for information, support, or just a good laugh. I don't think I would have made it without them.

As you may have noticed, I mentioned I post on the PG after miscarriage board. That's because after two years of trying, I got PG but it ended in a miscarriage at 5 weeks. I'm here to tell you girls, don't give up! My miscarriage was Sept. 7, 2000, which is the date of my LMP! That's right, I got PG two weeks after my miscarriage. It's possible. We didn't even use Clomid that month. This pregnancy is a gift from God. He sure did shock me, too.

The doctor told me the small amount of spotting I had was AF and it was just light because of the miscarriage. Then it stopped and my temps went back up. I thought it was weird, but ignored it. When I plugged in my temps for the weekend into my Lifecycle Fertility software, it said "Congrats! You are most likely pregnant! Confirm with your doctor or a HPT." I was like, "Whatever. You must be wrong." I decided since I was already taking Clomid (thinking I was on CD3) I had better take a test to make sure it was negative. But the second line popped up before a minute was up. I was so scared. But my buddies on the boards calmed me down. (Thanks, girls!)

My doctor was a little surprised since I had been in on Friday and now I was calling her on Monday to say I was pregnant. She sent me to have my levels tested and they came back fine both times. I feel so great about this pregnancy. I've already passed the day I miscarried last month, so I hope it's easy sailing now. We'll test one last time on Friday the 20th, and that should be it. My first appointment and ultrasound will be Nov. 6. That will be a big day, too. I can't wait to see the heartbeat. I really have no reason to worry. My pregnancy with DD was totally uneventful. I know this one will be too.

Thanks for joining me. I hope you enjoy reading my diary!
