13 weeks

8-week sonogram I had a doctor appointment last Friday. It was pretty exciting because the night before I felt AWFUL and saw a teeny, tiny bit of spotting. My stomach was really tight on and off and I had a little cramping. Luckily, all of this happened at 10 p.m. the night before my 8:30 a.m. appointment, or I may have been more upset. The moment I got the positive test on Oct. 8, I prayed for peace because I was so scared. It was so soon after losing the first baby and it caught me totally off guard. This is the first time I was nervous this whole pregnancy.

12-week sonogram At my appointment I told the nurse what I had felt and she wanted to do a sonogram. I was SO bummed I didn't have my videotape with me! We saw my sweet, sweet baby! It's so amazing to see the difference in my eight-week sonogram and the 12-week sonogram. (I attached both pictures, but this is my first time to use a scanner on my own. I hope it works!) The baby was moving around and kicking. It was so wonderful! The heart rate was 167 this time. So, it seems to be pointing toward a girl again. Baylie's was very similar. Kirt says until he sees the lack of certain parts, he'll think it's a boy. We'll see.

My next appointment is Thursday, Dec. 14 because I saw the nurse and not the doctor. So that should mess up my grand plan to have my sonogram during week 16 like I was told is typically done. I doubt they are going to do one so soon after the last one and so soon after seeing the doctor. It'll probably be more like week 18. No big deal, I suppose. I'm still waiting to wake up nausea-free some morning! HA! I can only dream of that day ...
