So I just posted the birth story part one and although I am anxious to finish my story a horror among horrors has happened (don't get all excited I am a bit of a drama queeen and though I am devestated nobody has died and my life will be ok. I got a call from my daughters daycare today stating that she and her classmates were cutting magazines and that she had cut her hair with the scissors. Now in my mind I am thinking what damage could she have done with those itty bitty scissors from school and in the minute that they claimed the teacher had walked away to change the music tape. When I get there I am horrified to see that she has pretty much cut all of her hair off. One side is cut above her ear and the other side just below the ear and in the back she has a small chunk where all her length is still there. Mind you my daughter has very long hair (midback) and that other than the 1/8 of and inch that I have trimmed when she gets her bangs cut she has never had a haircut, I wanted to always have her hair long.
Although the daycare (a center not a home daycare) has apologized I think they owe more. I plan on writing a letter to them, I am thankful that it wasn't her eye or her ears or whatever but the amount of hair missing took longer for her to cut than a minute and I feel it is something that they need to be aware of and change. I am making and appointment for tomorrow at a salon that is only for kids BUT I plan on deducting the cost of this haircut from the tuition for this week especially since I have to pull her out of school and take her to get this AND I have a almost 2 week old to take care of and to try and take care of myself AND find a roommate so that I am not forced to move.
I am not sure if I even want her returning to this school or what. My dad says I should consult a lawyer and see what they think, mind you dad is not sue happy but he thinks what happened is wrong and that her school is not being entirely honest.
I dont know if at this point I should be angry or just sad that my baby may be getting a pixie cut tomorrow!!!
Check out my last entry which I typed today although the date is wrong, it is the start of my birth story and hopefully I will finish it this week.
Lots of love, and hoping for some kind words and/or advice on the daycare thing.
