Thursday 2nd September - spring 'down under.'
(28 weeks)
12 weeks to go!!
The weather is absolutely magic here -- balmy warm spring days. Yippee!! Had to rush to the shops to buy a cool cotton shirt and a thin skirt because all my heavy black velvet maternity wear just isn't gonna cut it any more. I bought the first thing I found -- shopping is a bit of a drag these days -- so I'm now looking suspiciously like a pink meringue in a huge sack of a shirt in pale pink. Oh well, it's cool. And comfy.
Been feeling good this week. Lighter. I feel like I could walk a few kilometers and maybe even run!!!! I think my movement is highly dependent on how the baby's positioned. At the moment it's great -- sometimes I barely even feel pregnant! Very strange! Maybe it's the spring weather!
Had an ante-natal class Monday evening. It was pretty informal. Just sat around chatting, talking about what we want to get from the classes and getting to know the other couples. Can't say I learned anything much -- hopefully we'll get into the thick of it next week -- we've been promised some gory videos -- I feel ready! But I've realised I've got a lot to learn -- I don't even know how to fold a nappy and have never in my life put one on a baby! Truth is, I've hardly ever even held a baby!
Hubby and I are going car shopping this weekend. Believe it or not we don't have a car! Haven't had one since our last one died on us a week before we got married last year! At the time we were busy paying off the wedding and really couldn't afford to go out and buy one. And as time went by we realised that in some ways we were better off without one -- far fewer bills coming in, and we learned to walk everywhere and suddenly became really fit. But it's impossible to imagine being heavily pregnant and having a baby without one. Impossible. So the big job is this weekend. And because we're buying second-hand on a limited budget I daresay it will be a big job! Can't wait to get it over and done with.
But at least we're not moving house or deep into renovations! Seems most of the other pregnant couples in our ante-natal class are bogged down with one or the other. Couldn't stand the thought of moving house while being pregnant. What a stress!!!! But it seems that heaps of pregnant women do it. Puts buying a car into perspective.
Hope everyone is happy and well,
Eloise
