Well, adjusting to life with a newborn again is not as easy as I was hoping it would be! It is easier knowing what to do this time around but as for not getting a whole lot of sleep, that just is not easy to adjust to anyway you look at it! Thank goodness Taylor is sleeping through the night most of the time. When she does wake up, Glenn is in charge of going to her. It is just too much for me if I have to deal with Ryan and her in the middle of the night.
Ryan is on a pretty good schedule for a newborn I think. He is eating every 3 hours and sleeps most of the time in between. We are starting to see him awake and alert in the evenings and of course in the middle of the night a few times a week! That is hard on me as I have to get up early with Taylor -she was never one to sleep in so she gets up at about 7am every morning. That is tough when you have been up from 2-4 or so! I am sure it will all even out once Ryan gets a little older - but for now, just call me a zombie! I love every minute of it though - even though it might appear that I am complaining about the lack of sleep. I know that this too shall pass. Having a new baby around is just wonderful and so much fun. Taylor really enjoys it too. She gets very concerned when he cries and she tries to help as much as possible. I think she enjoys having a baby brother in the house.
My mom is still here visiting - she will be here for another 2wks. It has been very helpful having her here to cook and tend to Taylor. For the past 3 days she hasn't been around though so I have been getting a taste of what it will be like to be alone with the two kids. It is hard like I said but we will make it through. As time goes by and I get use to our new routine it can only get easier. In fact, I managed to get all our laundry done on Monday for the first time! That was my goal for the day and I did it!
I think that Glenn and I have decided that I am going to become a SAHM (stay at home mom.) If you recall, the company I work for got sold and everyone got laid off. With the cost of day care it only makes sense for me to stay home with both kids until they go to school. Maybe I can find odd jobs here and there to do from home but for the most part it will be Glenn supporting us. He is making good money now so it should work out just fine. We hope! I had such a great deal worked out with the company I am working for and it is just too bad they got sold! I would of been working from home and retaining all my benefits as well. Thank goodness we can get on Glenn's benefits for about the same price as I was paying for mine. It probably won't be as good but insurance is insurance and so important to have. I have a few months of severence pay so we won't be needing to make any decisions for a little while yet.
Well, that is it for this week. I am so tired I feel like I am just rambling on and on about nothing in particular!
