Gerri K's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

September 21, 2001

Well, my last entry was on 8/5/01 as I thought I would be starting a babies today diary, however, since then I have not been able to get that diary going - so, I'M BACK!

A lot has happened since my last entry so I will have to get you up to date with us.

Fist off let me say that the recent tragedy that has befallen our nation has just broken my heart. I truly hope that none of you have been directly affected by this terrible crime. If you have lost a loved one, I am sorry. Please know that even though we may not talk to one another my prayers are with you all. All of us need to pray for each other and for our nation.

Now onto baby news:

Ryan is just fabulous! He just had his 2 month appt this week (I know, just a couple weeks late!) and his new stats are 11lbs 14oz and 22 inches long. He is quite the chubby boy!! He is smiling and cooing a lot now which is just so much fun! We found out that he has reflux as well. Many, and I mean MANY a fussy days and nights have passed but we have finally gotten to the bottom of it! His Dr. has prescribed him a medication that has turned my fussy, miserable, spitting up non-pooping baby into a happy, regular, burping baby! It is just amazing at the difference in him. It is literally like night and day and I am so thankful that he is finally comfortable and calm. For a while there I didn't think I would make it if he were so fussy all the time. I knew he had gas problems but they just continued to escalate. So his Dr. has me giving him lacto-free formula and his medicine - off the top of my head I can't remember the name but it is like liquid tagamet. I think the name of the med. is cermetadine or something like that. I don't have the bottle with me at the moment.

Being a mom of two sure has its difficult moments! Thankfully, DD has adjusted really well to the new baby and really enjoys him. She hugs and kisses him all the time and always wants to hold him in her lap. She tickles him and talks "baby talk" to him. It is just too cute. They are getting their picture taken together this weekend - I can't wait to see how they turn out.

I am doing well. Tired, but well. My c-section has healed nicely and I am back at full speed. I have been walking daily to try to get rid of this baby weight and just yesterday DH and I joined a local gym. I got a personal trainer so I am going to get whipped into shape one way or another!! I am excited about it though. It is time for us both to get our bodies back as we have let ourselves go for way too long now.

Here is a link to pictures of Ryan that I put on a Yahoo photo album. The most recent were taken on 9/10/01. Copy the entire link and paste it into your browser. I hope you can get to them!

Well, I think that is about it for the update. Nothing too major to report. We have been busy trying to get a normal routine going and I think it is finally falling into place. Of course, now that I said that, everything is going to change!!

Until next time!
Gerri
