Hi All,
It's hard to believe that I'm seven weeks pregnant. It seems a little farther along than just a month, but so far from how far I have yet to go! I had heard that with each successive pregnancy, the time seems shorter. I can't see how that can be possible! I feel like I've been pregnant for months already!
I have been feeling pretty well, although every day my stomach and I have a quiet battle. It isn't full-blown morning sickness, but more of an 'off' feeling. Certain foods just don't agree with me at all. Other foods sound so good, then I eat them, and I never want to see them again! Case in point: pretzels. We went to a wedding in NY this weekend, and they were the road trip snack. They got me through my empty stomach stages, but I think I'd scream if I had to eat another one! And I usually love pretzels! Because I never know what will agree with me and what won't, I started eating whatever I craved at the moment. But I've realized that's a dangerous thing to do... I'm not the type of person who craves really healthy food!
That is really a focus point for me during this pregnancy: eating healthy and exercise. I am about 35 pounds over my ideal weight, although I've never been down to that figure in my adult life! I have a tendency to gain a lot of weight during my pregnancies, though. It was 45 pounds with my first, 40 pounds with my second, and a whopping 55 pounds with my third. I am determined to not repeat my past mistakes! Because I am due in June, it will be shorts weather... all the more incentive to keep the unnecessary weight off! I am exercising about 5 times a week right now, for either an hour or a half an hour, whatever I feel up to that day. I know I can keep that part of my goal up, but I worry about my food! Any encouragement will be appreciated!
My kids are really excited about this new baby. My daughter, Julia, is convinced that this is a girl. Actually, we all are. But we will love it just as much if it turns out that it's a boy. Austin, who will be 4 soon, told me that he can't wait to hold the new baby, and Braden, 2 1/2, says that I will have two babies... him and the new one!
You may be wondering about my prenatal visits, but for right now, I don't even have a doctor. It's a little complicated, but the fact is, I just can't get insurance coverage because of the pregnancy. The joys of moving from NY to Ohio! Before we commit to paying for the whole thing ourselves, we are waiting to see if my husband can get hired direct into the company he is consulting for right now. We should find out within the month, so keep your fingers crossed for us! I'd really like to have it all settled like yesterday, but life never cooperates the way we want it to!
Well, I could ramble on for pages more, but I think I'll save some of my other thoughts for another day. This entry is a lot longer than I had expected it to be, anyway!
Enjoy your day, and take a little time to do something for yourself!
Hugs,
Heather
