16 weeks, 24 weeks to go! EDD 06-07-00
Hello Everyone!
Not too much to report these days. I am just going steadily on...I think this is one of the most boring stretches of the pregnancy. You get bigger, but you don't feel the baby move. And there is nothing I can do but wait until this little one decides to let me feel his/her gymnastic antics!
I am finally in maternity pants. I dug them all out of storage last week and I'm so glad that I did. Much more comfortable! The tops are still too big, but I'm sure that won't be a problem for long. I am definitely showing...a relief in one sense. Now I look like a fat pregnant woman instead of just fat!
There's still no word on the doctor/midwife front. We should be hearing from my DH's work within the next several weeks about his status as a direct hire employee. As soon as I figure out what's happening, then I'll contact the midwife I'd like to have. It seems so strange not having seen a medical professional yet. With all my other pregnancies, I was the model patient...never missing an appointment or test. I also had a wonderful doctor. She delivered all three of my babies, and was their doctor as well. I think that may be part of the reason why I am so hesitant to really look for another person to for my prenatal care...she is a hard act to follow!
One thing that is starting to bother me again is my pelvic area. I mentioned before the problems I endured during my last pregnancy and my fears of it happening again. I've been getting the same aches and pains in that area, which I am sure is due to my getting bigger and the inevitable relaxing of my muscles and ligaments. I suppose at some point, unless a miracle happens, my pelvic bone will separate again. I think it happened with my first two pregnancies as well, although it went undiagnosed because the symptoms weren't so bad. That's another reason why I need to get to a midwife or doctor soon. They may have some preventive measures I can take, or hopefully will refer me to a physical therapist. I just hope I don't have a repeat of last time!
On the home front, I am trying to survive the holidays and three antsy children! They all really understand Christmas this year, and don't seem to care if Santa knows if they are naughty...why bother, when your parents and grandparents will get you stuff anyway!! I love them all dearly, but this apartment seems to have gotten smaller with the colder weather. That and I haven't had a night out alone with my DH since we moved in August...I miss my mother-in-law!!! We are going to New York for the week following Christmas (staying with my in-laws) and my DH assures me that he will give me a night out on the town, just the two of us. I can't wait!!!
We did get our tree up this weekend. It looks like a cousin to the Charlie Brown Christmas tree, but the kids love it. I've got a little more shopping to do, lots of baking, and then hopefully some fun stuff. I love this time of year, but I forget how much harder it is to get things done with a pregnancy!
Hope that you all are enjoying the holidays, however you spend them. Let's never forget the true reason we celebrate the season! Peace to all!
