Holly's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

February 4, 2004

I had my 30 week check up today and an ultrasound to confirm that the baby was ok due to my lack of weight gain. Everything is perfect. Emmy is in the 50th percentile and looks beautiful. Her big sister skipped gymnastics today to get a chance to see her little sister. She asked the tech to show her Emmy’s butt and then laughed saying it was wiggling. Abbey was so well behaved today I cold not have asked for a better behaved girl. The tech even commented on how polite she was. If she had only seen her last week when someone asked her what she was eating and she opened her mouth to reveal a half eaten Snicker or while we were eating after the Dr. appointment and she burped so loud it sounded like a grown mans. The tech was so smitten with Abbey that she printed off her own picture of her little sister so she can look at it whenever she wants.

I took Abbey in with me to see the dr. While we were waiting for him to come in she told
me she wanted to nurse. She has been weaned for over two years and I was kind of shocked that she would mention it. I guess she is getting a little worried about the baby.
After all she has been the only child for almost 4 years. She has taken to sleeping half of the night in her bed and then coming into my room and sleeping in the floor by my bed. I hope we can get her sleeping the whole night in her room soon so I don’t have to worry about waking her up in the middle of the night when the baby cries.

I have had many a sleepless night this last week. I seem to just get comfy when I have to
get up to pee then I can’t get back to sleep when I do I have to get up again. I have also
had some pressure in the pelvic area but resting and taking a warm soak in the tub helped quite a bit. I wish I had a big garden tub but until I get one my bath spa is wonderful. I have had a few braxton hicks contractions but nothing to be concerned about. I am figuring based on abbey’s birth that I have about 9 weeks left. Actually I think this baby will be a Easter baby. I said the with Abbey too and she came two weeks later. Still a week early though.

I am kind of in shock about having two girls. Abbey is a confirmed shopaholic and we live right across the street from Wal Mart-we can see this from our patio. So I am dreading two girls. Abbey surprised me at the tender age of 18 months by asking to go to the shoe section. She still prefers shoes and clothes over new toys. It is nice to have someone to shop with though. She has a great since of style. I ask her opinion and she will give me a pretty honest and good answer. Unfortunately she wants everything in pink. When we took her with us to buy our new Ford Focus she asked the saleslady if it came in Pink. Thankfully we talked her into the blue. But she told us when she gets a car it has to be pink.

I guess that is about all that has been going on with me.
