March 29, 2004
It has been a busy week for me. No we still do not have the baby. Even though today was
my original due date. The people at the Dr.’s office say any day now. I think they are saying that. Mike and I took Abbey to the park on Saturday after I got finished seeing my patients. Partly in hopes that walking around would convince Emmy that she really should come out. Abbey has been telling her to come out its a beautiful day for weeks and Saturday it really was. While at the park my daughter wanted to play in the sandbox.. We had brought a bag of sand toys with us in case she did want to play in the sand. There were about 10 children in the sandbox non of which had brought toys. So Abbey was very popular unfortunately she wanted to play by herself. She decided to leave the toys and go slide. Mike stayed to watch the toys and I followed Abbey around the playground. When she decided to slide on a slide beside the sand box I stay on the bench. A few minutes later I hear my child scream, “don’t touch me stay away from me”. There is a little boy behind her. my husband goes over to se if there is a problem, the little boy growls at my husband. Abbey goes up the ladder and slides. The little boy walks off and as my husband is turning
around to come back to the bench the boy catches Abbey at the end of the slide and chases her while growling all the way back to me. I catch her and tell him to leave. His father who is sitting behind me tells him he is a good growler. Abbey was seriously scared and decided then and there that she wanted to leave. As she is picking up her toys from the sand box another little boy starts hitting a little girl because she had Abbey’s sand pail and he wanted it. What did the parents of the little boy do. Pick him up and comfort him. I could not believe what I saw. Two children behaving badly and they get comforted. We took Abbey out to eat to celebrate her handling the situation well. My child is has a temper and when provoked tends to attack with force, so her stopping herself and NOT hitting the little boy was a good thing.
I know this post is not about being my pregnancy but I just couldn’t help but post this. I did go to the Dr. today. I saw a nurse practitioner so I did not get an exam. Sorry I can’t update you on the dilation/effacement. But I did not gain anything this week. And everything else seems to be going fine. I am just ready to meet my little girl. Her sister has been ready to meet her for ages.
I’ll update with a birth story soon......I hope.
