Its exactly 2 weeks since my little sweetie was born. We are adjusting quite well. She is a great sleeper already able to soothe herself back to sleep. She is a great nurser as well but it takes awhile to get her to latch on correctly. When they called Emily at her first dr. appointment I just sat there. Thankfully Mike was with me he had to say, “They called Emily.” twice before I realized it was our turn. I am just not use to having two daughters yet. We have another Dr. appointment tomorrow. Her DR. likes to check breastfed babies a few times to make sure they are gaining weight. Emmy had already gained her birth weight plus 6 ounces at her one week check up. I can’t wait to find out how much she has gained tomorrow.
She lost her umbilical stump last night. Today she got her first bath. She absolutely loved it. My dad and sister came up to visit today. They took Abbey outside to blow dandelion seeds and to kick a giant ball around. She had fun. I just don’t like to go outside so she goes wild when there is someone who will go outside with her.
Speaking of the big sister I am so proud of how well she is taking losing her only child
status. She wants to help me all the time do things for the baby like change diapers and sponge baths. She is such a good sister. I bet my baby sister wishes I was half as good as Abbey is.
