Introduction

Wow what a week. I got a letter in the mail that said Emmy needed to have her PKU, T4,
glucosemia test retaken. I freak out until I could get a hold of the dr. He gets me in that day to take the test but has no idea that we failed the test. He calls the state office for me and it turns out they just didn’t get enough blood to administer the test. I was never so relieved in my life. I stayed with Emmy while they collected the blood sample which was horrible. They have to fill up 9 circles on a card. My poor baby kept clotting before they could get the holes filled up. It took 3 tries of sticking her in the foot. Thankfully its over and hopefully we won’t have to repeat it again.

All last week I was rushing around trying to get ready for Abbey’s birthday party. I did
not stop running the day before the party until close to midnight. We also had a bridal
shower to go to that day. Mikes cousin is getting married and Abbey is their flowergirl. The bride’s sister had a baby the same day that I had Emmy. They are actually only an hour apart. Emmy was so much bigger than him. It was funny. Especially since his mom said he was 7lb 13 oz at birth and Emmy was only 7lb 1 oz. He was breastfed too so I know it wasn’t a difference of one being on formula and one on Breast.

The party was lots of fun I think. The most fun being the pinata that eventually just got
stomped. The theme was care bears. Abbey got a ton of Barbies and clothes. I just need to
find room for everything. She is also getting a sand box for our patio. I can’t pick that up until I get my car back from the shop. I had to drop it off this morning. The bumper is being repaired from when I was rear ended a few weeks before Emmy was born.

Emmy turns one month old tomorrow. I can’t believe that the time has just flown by. It
makes me kinda sad. She is a great baby. Only wakes up at night to eat and that is at 3:30 and 6:30. The girl has pretty much put herself on a schedule. I let her eat on demand but when I look at the clock its always the same time. Her big sister doesn’t seem as jealous this week. She is still a great helper. I can’t get a diaper out without her standing beside me ready to help. I saw Emmy smile this week. I looked down at her and smiled and she smiled back at me. I thought I was going to cry it was so sweet.
