Jackie's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |

16 weeks, 2 days
Sorry it has taken so long to update this diary. I was hoping my u/s picture would be posted with the last entry but it didn't. I'm looking into alternatives to post my pictures in the future. I am also going to try and make a weekly entry like I had planned. It's hard to make time between my dog customers and vacations, one of which I just got back from Sat. night. My SIL and I went to a huge outdoor quilt show over the weekend. It was fun but I had a hard time. It was very hot. I nearly passed out a couple of times. We had to cut the day short.
I went to the DR last Thurs. and everything still looks good. We were able to pick up the heartbeat with the doppler this time. That put me in tears!! It's not the same as an u/s. Before I could see the heart but couldn't hear it. I'm glad DH was able to be there to enjoy it. My blood pressure was lower than usual and the DR said that's probably why I've had a couple of dizzy spells where I could see spots before my eyes. Other than that I'll just wait till my next appt. which is Aug 7th. We go to the beach for a week after that and then I go back on the 22nd for my u/s. We decided to wait until after vacation which puts me at 21 and 1/2 weeks. Since we really want to find out the sex the DR suggested this might give us a better chance since I'll be farther along. And of course if the baby will face the right direction.
I haven't had any nausea for awhile so that must be gone for good now. My energy has picked up too. Like they say, the 2nd trimester is when you can enjoy your PG. And I am!! It just amazes me I was able to overcome the first 12 weeks this time. With every passing week past that 3 month mark is a blessing to us and makes us all the more excited. For my physical appearance: I'm not quite sure if I'm any bigger. DH says so and I can tell with my clothes but looking in the mirror doesn't tell me much yet. I'm almost able to wear maternity pants but not just yet. Probably won't be long though--the elastic in my shorts is getting too tight. I gained almost 3 lbs. since my last appt a month ago. My boobs are still killing me. I actually got out a package of frozen peas out of the freezer the other night and put on them. LOL!! I've been sewing some clothes for myself the past couple of weeks. Making a couple of jumpers to get me through until maternity clothes will fit. Since that elastic is getting too tight I needed something else. And having nothing across my belly feels 100% better.
Between the DR and my pregnancy books, They say I could be feeling the baby anytime. I'm not quite sure if I'll know it or not. I had some very strange and definate flip-flops in my belly yesterday. I've never felt anything like that so far so it could have been the baby or just gas. I'm pointing more towards gas since I've had such a problem with that but if it happens again I might think otherwise. :-)
Congrats to the new moms who have had their babies and I hope everyone elses PG's are doing well!!!
