Jackie's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 22, 2001

21 weeks 4 days

I am back from vacation and had a great time. The weather wasn't the greatest but we still had fun. DH fished in the ocean 1/2 the time and as a result we had a cooler full of fish to bring back to put in the freezer.

But to get down to business.... yes, today was u/s day and it was the neatest thing ever. My appt. was at 9:00 and I don't think we left until 9:45. The tech spent alot of time measuring and looking, making sure everything was ok, and of course letting us know what sex our baby is. It's a BOY!!!! We are so excited! Now everything seems so much more real and I feel closer to the baby. Watching him on that screen for 45 min was just amazing. I couldn't beleive the detail of the pictures. I could see everything! Especially his privates. There's no doubt about it...he's a boy. The tech was nice and gave us several copies of the pictures. Some for DH's mom, my parents, and some for my scrapbook. She said she had fun doing it since he was so photogenic! :-)

She said everything looked perfect but that the DR would go over them with me at my next appt. which is in 2 weeks. Then 2 weeks from that our child birth classes start. I can't wait! Now we need to go and register. Unless I buy everything first! LOL!! As soon as we got home my mom and I went shopping and I bought 3 blue outfits and a pair of blue booties. It's so fun when you know what color to buy!!! I'm picking up the dresser and crib mattress tomorrow so I'm going to check out all the bedding packages and maybe come up with a theme for the bedroom.

Take care!!
Jackie & Baby Boy!
