Jacquie's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

Introduction

It's December 21, the first day of my Christmas vacation! Things have been hectic at work with the excitement of the holidays, parties to plan and attend, and wrapping things up for the end of the year. I am really looking forward to the next two weeks to relax and regroup. My son has a nasty cold, which makes me really nervous since we are flying across the country on Tuesday. I am taking him in to the pediatrician tomorrow to have his ears checked and see if he needs any medicinal help to kick this bug before the trip. I am looking forward to telling his doctor about my pregnancy -- she announced her first pregnancy the day my son was born when she came to meet him in the hospital.

I am still feeling pretty sick and throwing up more mornings than not. I do have days of feeling totally great -- like today -- and that makes me confident that there is a light at the end of this tunnel! I am so looking forward to enjoying this second trimester, when I'll get to feel those magical little flutters and watch my belly grow. I know many women who complain about being pregnant, losing their figures, feeling tired and sore, etc. I love it! I have never felt as good about my body as I did when I was pregnant with Jimmy. I just love that big belly and knowing that a little life is growing inside. I never ceased to be amazed at the miracle that is happening inside of me. It would be easy to consider this commonplace -- women have been doing this without much effort for millions of years. But I don't think of it that way, I am constantly astounded at MY body's capacity to do this!

My belly has already popped out significantly -- people can tell I'm pregnant just by looking at me! I still look ridiculous in maternity shirts, but am wearing the pants daily now. I find myself rubbing my belly often, it is such a nice reassurance that things are moving along! Sometimes my husband and I become overwhelmed by how fast this pregnancy is progressing. We have a lot we hope to accomplish before June, the biggest task is buying a house! But now is not the time to worry about the big things -- we are spending the next couple of weeks enjoying each other and our little family, and daydreaming about how it will feel when our newest member arrives!

That's all for 2000!
