Hey guys!
Here is the birth story of Myndee Alise Bauguess....
Tuesday Oct 8th, I started feeling odd. We checked my bp and it was 165/105. I called the doc and they had me go to the ER. I was admitted that night and told that I was in there until the baby would be born, on Wed the 16th. They were going to induce. It was really horrible being stuck to a bed, in the hospital for that long, I will tell you. Very depressing. After some scares with the baby monitor, (she wasn't very active), and four bio-physical profiles on Myndee, they determined she was okay. She was practicing breathing inside the womb, and that was good, she was moving around, and that was good, her hb was great. She past 8 out of 8 each time except the first one, where she failed 6 out of 8.
Tuesday night, the 15th, I was moved to Labor and Delivery, and cervidil was placed on the my cervix, with the hopes that it would soften and dialate throughout the night, and they would administer pitocin at 6 am on the 16th. I was put on magnesium sulfate, Brian called it satan in an iv. I would have to agree! They came in (all this is foggy with the mag drip) and hurriedly took out the cervidil. It was causing contractions (that didn't really bother me, I wonder what it would have been like if I would have been allowed a vaginal birth), and with each contraction her hb faltered. She wasn't tolerating it at all. Dr. S told me that she wanted to perform an emergency c-section. Brian had gone to the firehouse, to get some things together, and relax. I was afraid that he wouldn't have made it in time. We called him immediately but Dr. S said she didn't feel comfy waiting for him. I was wheeled into the operation room. My nurse was awesome and was a highschool friend (weird!). They gave me a spinal block (have to admit, it hurt like hell) and then laid me down, strapped my arms down, and prepared me for surgery. Brian arrived literally within 5 minutes of Myndee's birth, and they allowed my mother and Brian to come in with me. Surgery began, it was all surreal. I felt tugging, and heard the docs talking back and forth, I was sick and started vomitting. Soon, I heard, "Look up and see your daughter!" Peering over the blue sheet was two little eyes and a mad red face! I start to cry just thinking of that moment and how it made me feel.
I heard her crying and my mom and I just sobbed with happiness. Brian went over to check her out. She scored and 8 and 9 on her Apgars.
I was finished up, and assessed after surgery. My bp was still high, so I remained on the mag for another 24 hours. When I got to my room. I heard they had a little problem with Myndee. She was breathing too fast and hard. They did chest x-rays and discovered a numothorax in her lung. A little hole, she was in NICU.
She stayed in NICU until I was able to take her home on Friday the 18th. I didn't get to see her for awhile after her birth, because I was unable to move to go to NICU.
I am expressing my milk trying to get her to latch on, but she is small, and was fed with bottles and finger fed while in the NICU.
She is doing great, and is so beautiful. I am so grateful for her.
I am doing ok too, I am in some pain of course but bp is down again and I don't feel nauseous anymore!
Well, off to be a mommy! THanks for reading everyone!
