Jenea's Diary Entries

April 6, 1999

Well, I told my family two days ago like I said I was planning to on Easter. It went well and they said what I expected them to say, "Oh, that's nice. Congratulations." My aunt and my cousin (the one I told you about) were really excited. My aunt kept telling me that twins are due but I told them that I knew for a fact that there was only one in there because I have had three U/S. My grandmother looked at me incredulously and asked, "WHY, three??" and I told her that I had had some spotting and such and the docs wanted to make sure everything was ok. I told them that I wanted to make sure everything was going to be okay before I told them. She (my aunt) also kept asking me a lot of stuff like, "Do I need anything? Do I still have stuff from when Samantha was a baby? How far along are you? Are you going to have a baby shower? Let me see if you have a belly yet..." (which I do..or am starting to anyhow). This was nice since none of my other family members cared one way or the other. After they said their congrats, they said nothing else about it.

My cousin on the other hand was almost in tears when I told her and she jumped up and hugged me. We were alone when she read her card cause when I told the adults in my family, so she got more emotional. She got up and hugged me so tight and it felt so good to know that at least SOMEBODY cared about this baby besides me and hubby.

By the way, Mike is being much better about the baby thing. He is being super nice now, wanting to rub my belly and kiss it. He must have kissed my belly a ZILLION times last night, tickling me with his razor stubble. I was laughing so hard....=)

It feels good to know that he has FINALLY gotten excited about this baby. Especially since I told him that the midwife told me that after you see the heartbeat, there is a 96-98% chance NOTHING will happen to the baby and that everything will be fine. =) Which made me so happy and him also. =) Well, that is about it for me right now. =) Hope everyone had a good Easter/Passover. Until next time....
