My doctor's appointment...13 weeks, one day...
My doctor's appointment was FINALLY last night. After waiting for an HOUR in the waiting room, I was finally called back, got weighed (142 1/2 pounds...only gained a half a pound since my last visit), then sat in the actual doctor's office for 15 to 20 minutes before he came in to hug me (no hand shakes -- he says, "All hugs -- this is a place of celebration!!"). We talked for around 10 to 15 minutes about this and that and any questions I may have. He told me about the practice and the docs and stuff that work there (since it was my FIRST visit with the docs) and then we call Mike and Samantha in (oh, and while I was waiting for Dr. Gildiner to come in, the nurse took my B/P. It was 130/78, which she said is good). We went into the exam room where he let Samantha put the ICE COLD FREEZING jelly on my belly for the doppler. At first he let her hold the doppler but she was moving it around so fast on my tummy that all we were getting was fuzz. So he finally got a hold of it. First, I heard the blood pumping to my uterus, which sounded really cool. Then, I heard the wonderful sounds of the thumpity thump of my PRECIOUS baby's heartbeat. It was going so fast and it sounded like heaven to me. I have been giggling all day and all last night thinking about my little muffin in my tummy. =) One of the first things that Dr. G asked me was if I was feeling movement yet. I told him yes and he was pleased to hear it. (Thanks to those who answered my questions about feeling baby so early). I WAS SOOOOO excited. =) Anyhow, I go for an 18-week pelvic ultrasound in five weeks and routine blood work (no genetic testing, just stuff for Rubella and HIV and stuff) in three weeks when I am 16 weeks. My next appointment is on June 7. I can't believe that this pregnancy is DOING WELL!! =) I am so excited!! =)
Til the end of time...
Jenea
