Jenni's Diary Entries

May 24, 2003

Carson is 38 days old. He is five weeks old and is growing up so fast.

*development*
Carson is working so hard to hold his head up. when I hold him on my chest, he spends so much time looking around. He hates tummy time on the floor but we still do it at least once a day, most of the time he just screams at me but he is getting better. He has a gym with toys that hang down and dance to music, he loves to bat at them and watch them move (still not strong enough to make them move on his own yet though, that thing could really use a remote control!!!)

Carson giggled at Eric last Sunday. I didn't believe Eric because I didn't hear it, but he giggled at me on Monday. It was a cute little half giggle and I loved it. He smiled for the first time, I think, this past week too. I was playing with his pacifier, putting it in and out of his mouth while talking funny to him, and he smiled a big toothless grin, adorable.

*pictures*
I went to get one month pictures taken at Sears and ended up having to reschedule because he cried and screamed the whole time. This boy hardly ever cries and I just couldn't get him to calm down.

We ended up getting pics done on this past monday, they are so cute. He still screamed but I was able to calm him down so we could get a few shots. they are on his website (www.carson.jujuby.com) under the heading one-month. I spent too much money on shots but I couldn't resist, next time I won't buy quite as many!:)

*growth*
I had Carson up at the hospital I work at for a meeting I was going to and I decided to weigh him on our baby scale. Granted the scale is different then the MD office one and he had clothes on, but it said he weighs 9pounds. I can't believe he could be almost that big! he is growing like a weed, I kinda wish he could stay this small forever but I do look forward to watching him grow up.

*sleep*
I put Carson in his crib in his room last night for the first time, up unitl now we have had him in a bassinet in our room. He did great, but I was a wreck and kept my ear to the monitor worried that I might miss his cry. He slept from 10pm until 3:30am, woke up for a bottle and then went back to sleep until 7. It was nice.

he is getting over the need to play at 4am, and all I had to do was be patient with him. We have gotten into a nice bedtime routine and I think that is helping to keep him calm also.

*Memorial Day*
on Monday my parents will be babysitting for the first time so Eric and I can go out to a movie and dinner for our anniversary (which is Tuesday). I hope I can stand to be away from my little man and I hope I can enjoy the movie without calling home every 15minutes!

happy third Anniversary to my dear husband!!! thanks for putting up with my craziness!

Until next time!!! Make sure to check out the one month pictures at www.carson.jujuby.com
