Jennifer B's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
January 5, 2001
We have been getting lots of weather here. The ice came first, then 6 inches of snow followed. It has been on the ground for about two weeks. I went to church Sunday and fell even though I was being careful and James was holding onto my arm. I fell directly on my back and it sure knocked the breath out of me. It hurt, but I'm just fine now except for some mild lower back pain.
Time is sure flying by and I'm getting bigger every day. James and I began swimming everyday after his work. It's relaxing for him after a long day and it's great exercise for me. I feel like I am in training for the big event. How exciting!
This week I have been cleaning, organizing, and cleaning some more. It seems that I have taken the house apart and am putting it back together again in a more orderly fashion. I don't have a job yet, so there is nothing else for me to do. I enjoy cleaning when I have time, so it's not as bad as it sounds.
James and I started the new year off in a great way. On January 1 we put the crib and two bookshelves together for the baby. It's nice to have a place to put the things that we already have for him like his booties, clothes, comforters and books. I do realize that there is so much more that he needs before he is born. I'm beginning to stress over the lack of baby goods and the lack of time, but I'm sure everything will work out just fine.
I can't wait until he comes out. He could come as early as two months from this past Saturday and still be considered full term at 38 weeks (according to the March 19 due date) or he could stay in until the beginning of April (according to the March 31 due date). I would rather him come earlier because I'm ready to end the discomfort and swelling. My hands are swelling so much that the pressure in my joints pops them out of joint when I bend them in the mornings. That should all end when he comes out, but I'll definitely tell the doctor when I go this week. I'm still having some contractions. They don't hurt, but they do put lots of pressure on my lower abdomen. I have about 10 each day. When I'm really active, like when I go shopping, I get them more frequently. I think it's a sign that I need to take it easy now. I want him to come out soon, but not this soon.
