Introduction
I cannot wait until this baby comes out to meet me. He is measuring large, but they won't change my due date officially. I had to have a level 2 ultrasound last week because the doctor thought something might be wrong, but it turns out that he is just huge! I had another regular ultrasound with a different doctor today and he agreed that the baby is large for dates, but he wouldn't change them either! Official or unofficial, I will be expecting this baby to come out on Mar.19 (roughly) instead of the 31st.
Also, they checked for glucose tolerance and found that I don't have gestational diabetes, so he is independently growing this large! The doctor today told me that he weighs 2 pounds, 12 ounces. That sound so big to me, but I'm sure he is still very small. I would rather him be too large than too small. It may hurt more during delivery, but it seems that a big baby is a healthy baby.
My mother and I went out shopping for a book shelf and a chest of drawers. We found some cute, cheap furniture at Lowes or Home Depot (the orange store, as my mom would say). They don't have drawers, but I was thinking about getting two bookshelves and putting baskets on the top two or three shelves to hold his clothes. I'm still debating this. There is also a cute plastic tub with rope handles which will make a great toy storage area for only $7. We already have the crib, and will be putting it together on Saturday when I get back in town. It will be great to have the room put together just in case the baby comes early.
Time was flying by until I finished with finals. Now it seems to be going at turtle pace. I did graduate Saturday, Dec. 15 with my bachelor's in environmental policy. I'm glad to be finished with school requirements and look forward to taking classes that will get me closer to meeting my requirements for medical school.
The weather has been very cold lately. I've stayed fairly warm with my "baby heater" going full blast, but with negative wind chills anyone would be cold. We are supposed to have a very harsh winter. I hope it will warm up by the time he comes into the world!
