Introduction

26 Weeks

Hello Everyone,

Well here we are -- only four days until Christmas. I am such a little kid this time of year. I actually count down the sleeps! I figure if my excitement is at all contagious, little Sam will be a Christmas addict in no time at all.

I have all of my presents wrapped; now I just have to get the stocking stuffers wrapped. As my parents are flying in from Ottawa, they asked me to get the stocking stuffers for each other. DH's mom is coming down from Edmonton, and she has never had a stocking. So she wouldn't feel left out, we also did a stocking up for her. So I have to wrap for four stockings. I find it fun though -- play some music, have some hot chocolate, sit by the tree and you're set. I’m just relieved NOT to have to go to the mall anymore. Man, let me tell you, I could write an essay about society based on their behavior in parking lots at Christmas. Once I’m in the mall I’m fine – but the parking lots are a nightmare – and people behave just insanely on their quest for a spot!

I am so excited that I get three days off of work next week. Work continues to be hectic -- and that's an understatement. I worked until 1:30 am (from 7:30 am) once this week and every other night I worked until 10 pm. I did have one night off for our department Christmas party. Right now I am overtired and it shows. I actually fell asleep in my chair the other day, and that NEVER has happened in my whole life.

I found out yesterday that although spicy food agrees with me fine and dandy -- Sam doesn't like it so much! I had spicy Thai food for supper and it was delicious. Two hours later, however, Sam started going ballistic in my belly! He tossed, he turned, he thrashed about. This went on for about a half an hour before I took some Tums to try and settle him down! I also had a big glass of milk and some nice, bland, arrowroot cookies. That seemed to work and by bedtime he was back asleep. I'll definitely be watching my spicy food intake!

I am starting to think about the whole baby stuff shopping thing lately. I am trying to find some nice baby bedding. I thought I was going to get something from the Pottery Barn, but I was too late and they were sold out. I like a lot of muted colors, which are hard to find. We're painting the baby's room light taupe. I would also like to find a good Canadian site that sells nice bedding, as converting from U.S. dollars can be a dramatic increase! Like Corinne, I also am on the prowl for a nice diaper bag. I like sportier things, so I might go with the Land's End or Eddie Bauer bags.

Well, I think that's all there is to say! I really wish all of you celebrating the Christmas Season a very Merry Christmas. I hope all of your holiday wishes come true!
