We still don't know what it is LOL! Not that is even matters but I just thought I'd make that a little interesting. :-) Today was my regular doctors appointment and Mark went with me. We got there and they called me right back. First of all the nurse checked my blood pressure which was normal and then I was weighed. I asked her to figure up how much I had gained total in my pregnancy and she said "wow only 3 pounds". Well I am finguring that I MUST have lost some weighed and then it was distributed to other parts of my body because my "skinny" clothes certainly dont fit anymore. Just for the fun of it, the other day I put on a pair of my size 10 shorts and walked out of the bedroom to show Mark. Needless to say we both had a good laugh, since I couldn't even get them past my hips! :-)
But back to my appointment. So we sat and waited for my doctor's nurse to call my name and I think we only had to wait about 5 minutes. Dr. J came in right away and had me lay back so he could check for the heartbeat. After a minute or so we heard that angelic sound and Mark heard it for the first time! While I was laying there I told my doctor that I was there today to "BEG" him to let me have an ultrasound. He laughed and said "what for"? I said "well just because I want one and that can be my Christmas present from you". Mark and the doctor just laughed at me. But he gladly gave in and went to talk to the ultrasound tech. He came back and said that she'd be more than happy to do one on me today. But that it will just be a scan and they wont look for anything specific or take measurements. Then I can come back in 3 weeks and have my regular ultrasound and that's when we will check the heart, organs, spine and such and also look for the gender of the baby. Well, I was THRILLED and smiled at my doctor as we walked out and he told us to have a Merry Christmas! :-)
Mark and I went back to the waiting room for only a few minutes until the lady called my name. We went in and she let me know that I'd be coming back in 3 weeks to do the normal ultrasound but that because I requested one today we were just going to look in on the little one and see what was going on. We saw our precious baby, kicking and arms moving around. The head, neck, spine, heart, back and belly all looked perfect to us. Everything else was still hard to look at. She did try her best to look between the legs but my baby had one of it's feet right up in the crotch area....LOL! I got a print out of my little angel and then we were done. I schedualed my next appointment and ultrasound for Jan. 8th at 10:20.
All the way home Mark and I talked about how exciting it would be to have another girl, or another boy. We were saying how special it would be if we ended up having another boy and that Autumn would remain the only girl. Forever to be spoiled by us, her brothers and her Nanny and Papa. :-) We decided on a name for our baby if it is a boy and now we will work on a middle name. Then we talked about how neat it would be to have another girl and that way we would have 2 of each. But when it came down to it (as it should) we were just so happy to have seen our little one. In the tragedy of loosing 2 babies in the past three years, it really makes the gender of the baby the last thing on our minds. We were most happy about this pregnancy when we found out that the baby was in my womb, safe and sound. That is what it's all about.
So in three weeks we will go back to find out weather we are going to have a girl (Trinity) or a boy (Christian) and either way we will be the happiest parents alive. Not just because we are going to have another child, but because God had blessed us once again with a child that will live. This child will grow up only knowing love and affection from us and never have to do without anything.
I am so thankful to God for the oppertunity to be a mom again. It's the GREATEST blessing there is!
Merry Christmas to Ya'll~
