Jenn's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 3, 2003

Hi, everyone! Finally an update from chilly Fairbanks - sorry it's been over 2 weeks.

I got a sinus infection and then David'd cold (thanks, honey!) but am on the mend quickly now. Anyone else get bad sinus infections? Drink red raspberry leaf tea (or pregnancy tea - usually the main ingredient is RRL) and you'll feel much better. It has antibiotic properties and helps clear the passageways. Two cups of that yesterday and I feel good again. I'm trying to drink it daily to help with birth also.

I scheduled my first hypnosis for childbirth appointment for Monday the 8th. Between this and the tea, I hope birth goes smoothly and quickly! I'm "shopping" around for a childbirth class - hopefully I can get something going this week, at least have a schedule of classes and be signed up. We're doing the Women's Center tour in January so we'll see everything then. I plan to be in and out as soon as possible, though.

David's parents are coming up for the baptism on March 21st. We're doing attachment parenting so they (nor anyone else!) will be holding Speggie much at that time, but they can see the baptism and see the baby.

It was -40 here yesterday and I stayed in bed most of the day under the comforter with the cat. It was the warmest place in the apartment! I don't care what you do, at that temperature there is no way to really get warm. It's warming up a little and hopefully we won't have anymore of those cold days til January.

I found the breast pump I want (my mom is purchasing it for us) so at least I know where I'm getting that from. I feel like I'm doing some things too early, but if I don't do it now, I worry I'll be too tired or will just run out of time later.

I've hit the clumsy stage - how many things can you knock out of the cupboard while reaching for a cup? Whatever your number is, I bet I can beat it!!

Speggie has graduated from kicking to full gymnastics. It's a very interesting feeling, but extremely reassuring, even at 4am. I'm getting so excited to meet this little person! Yes, I'm nervous about motherhood and having a child to look after all the time, but I know if it wasn't God's plan, I wouldn't be pregnant right now. He doens't give us more than we can handle, right?

Anyone watch Days of Our Lives? Let's start a chat!

Car seat, stroller, Baby Bjorn, breast pump, bouncy seat, bassinet...what's one thing I should get, can't live without for Speggie?

I'll update on the 15th after my ultrasound.

Love, Jenn and Speggie
