Expert Q&A
Question:
What are some important questions to ask when interviewing an OB/GYN to assist you throughout your pregnancy? And, when finding a birthing center or hospital to deliver at, how do I find out what their C-section rate is, and what should that number be under?
Answer:

You can certainly ask an OB/GYN what their C-section rate for the last year was and ideally that number is under 20 percent, but it can fluctuate a lot from year to year. You want to know what the hospital which they deliver at provides as emergency services for OB/GYN, neonatology and anesthesia. A level-3 delivery hospital will have 24-hour coverage for all of the above to cover emergencies quickly at all times and days.
