Expert Q&A
The insides of my thighs are very sore, like I've pulled the muscles in them, but it has lasted at least two weeks. What could this be from?
This could be due to strain of the inner thigh muscles, called the adductor group, which is the group of muscles that brings the thighs together. Have you been stretching these muscles during exercise? If so, you may be over-stretching them. They attach to the pubic bones of your pelvis and might be causing strain on the pubic symphysis joint. This in turn can refer pain back down the inner thigh. Are you often in a wide squatting position? Squatting is good for the pelvic floor muscles, but vigorous or excessively wide squats can get you into trouble. Moist heat and massage to the inner thigh muscles can provide quite a bit of relief.
