Expert Q&A
Can I still dye my hair or get a permanent while I'm pregnant?
I haven't seen any research that says hair dye or permanent solutions cause teratogenic effects. However, I recommend waiting until after the first trimester. If you do choose to color your hair or get a permanent, always use these products in well-ventilated areas and try to keep the product from getting on your scalp or skin.
