Expert Q&A
Is it safe to bleach facial hair using a brand such as Jolen during pregnancy?
There is no evidence that facial bleach is harmful during pregnancy. However, I usually recommend that my patients avoid all hair chemical processing during the first trimester of pregnancy, because this is the critical period of organogenesis for your baby and every precaution should be taken to give your baby the best start. If you must remove facial hair, electrolysis or waxing would be the preferred method in the first trimester."
