Expert Q&A
Question:
What are the benefits of jojoba oil during pregnancy for skin care? Does it cause any problem for the fetus? Is there any research by universities or health institutes on this subject? We would appreciate your help.
Answer:
I have contacted my fellow herbalists and health food specialists, and no one has heard of Jojoba oil being contraindicated during pregnancy. As far as I know it is a bush from the desert, and as long as it is not mixed with chemicals and is used naturally as a massage oil, I see no problems. I would however, try massaging the oil on the back of the hand and wait to see any reaction.

I am not aware of any studies on this subject.

To keep the abdomen skin moist and lessen stretch marks, I do suggest cocoa butter and/or vitamin E. Use daily all over the stomach area and buttocks.
