Keeping in mind that you will probably not be allowed to eat while in labor, I would suggest snacks you know your husband or support person will like. While you might like carrot sticks, they may not. I would recommend packing snacks such as crackers, pretzels, fresh fruit such as apples and grapes. Hard candy and chocolate can give a boost of energy when needed.
Another thing to consider is bringing something for you to eat after the birth. Two of my deliveries were late at night, and I was starving by time I got done. The cafeteria was closed by then and the nurses had to search for something for me to eat. Many hospitals and birthing centers have mini-kitchens for the families to use, so maybe bring something for yourself for later.
