Expert Q&A
Question:
Can I make and freeze my own waffles?
Answer:
I almost always prepare extra waffles and then freeze them. When I make a batch of waffles, I allow the extras to first cool on wire racks. This helps them not to stick to each other. Then when they are cool put them in several gallon freezer bags and freeze. I usually don't keep them for more than 2 months.

To serve them, there are a couple of options, one is to reheat in them stove, on a cookie sheet for 10 minutes or so, at 350 F. degrees. You can microwave them one at a time for about 1 minute or so, or you can break them into quarters and stick in the toaster. You don't have to defrost them first unless you wish too. My family can't tell the difference. This saves a lot of money over the cost of store bought frozen waffles and can save a lot of time in the mornings.
