Expert Q&A
Question:
Is it safe to eat crabmeat and shrimp during pregnancy?
Answer:

There is no reason to avoid shrimp and crabmeat as long as they are fully cooked. Cooking kills the germs that could wreak havoc. Avoid extra sodium by sticking with fresh crabmeat versus the more processed, crabmeat-like impostors used in sandwiches and salads.
