Unfortunately, I don't know how to pinpoint the right times to eat the foods that would best benefit the baby's development at a specific time. Approximating the time is probably the only way to correspond development with foods. When you think about it, the whole pregnancy is so vital to the growth and formation of your baby, it would be unfair to only focus on certain parts of development. I am not saying you only want your baby to have 20/20 vision, but how do you select one over the other? Your best bet is to eat the healthiest foods you can and read up on what the different stages of growth are during each month. There are plenty of books out there that will describe the process. My favorite book, Nutrition for a Healthy Pregnancy by Nancy Somer, describes the stages of growth. You could also look into medical resources, the termonology might not be too familiar (like when you watch ER), but the books usually have glossary's.
Another one of my sources is Nutrition in Pregnancy and Lactation by Bonnie Worthington-Roberts and Sue Rodwell Williams. I picked up both books at Barnes and Noble. I know Somer's book is also available at the library. You will just have to find the book that explains it best to you and go from there. Pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy and after pregnancy, nutrition and lifestyle greatly impact the growth of your baby. You have the opportunity to shape your baby's health through out their life!
