Expert Q&A
Question:
I am constantly having morning sickness. I was told to eat crackers about 20 minutes before getting out of bed. I am still getting sick. What can I do or eat to help me from vomiting so much?
Answer:
If you are vomiting and not keeping any fluid downs for 24 hours or more, you must immediately see your health care provider.

Other means of controlling nausea in the first trimester include: not drinking fluids with your meals, trying papaya tablets, Vitamin B6 (take 30 to 75mg every day), or Velcro wrist bands (sea bands) found at local scuba diving shops or drug stores. These bands incorporate accupressure in the prevention of nausea. Also seek an accupuncturist. They are now acknowledged by the American Medical Association as an acceptable means of treatment for nausea in pregnancy and should be covered by your insurance.
