Expert Q&A
Question:
If I am pregnant and also a lacto-ovo vegetarian, what would be a good menu for me that would supply me with plenty of protein?
Answer:
Don't forget that you are probably getting lots of protein from dairy and eggs, especially if you eat some form of them everyday. Other great vegetarian sources of protein include: tofu, seitan ("wheat meat"), nut butters, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. The outdated notion of combining proteins no longer applies, just eat a wide variety of whole, healthful foods!
