Your fetus depends on you for its nourishment, so your diet is important both to the fetus and to control of your diabetes. Skipping meals or overloading on calories can dramatically affect your blood sugars. The best regimen, which your doctor will plan with you, includes small meals and multiple snacks throughout the day.
Moderate exercise is especially important for women with diabetes. Regular exercise actually helps to control the amount of insulin you need to keep your blood sugars normal. Discuss your exercise plans with your doctor before establishing an exercise routine, especially if you do not already exercise regularly.
