Expert Q&A
Question:
I am currently 3 1/2 months pregnant and have had to deal with severe morning sickness. I have not gained any weight but have actually lost because I am sick so often. Is this a big concern? Is this common for some women?
Answer:
The amount of nausea and weight loss (or gain) women experience is different from person to person and pregnancy to pregnancy.

As long as you are keeping fluids down in a 24 hour period and not spilling protein or large amount of ketones in your urine (tested at your healthcare provider's office) you should be fine.

If you have real concerns, don't hesitate to discuss this with your health care provider.
