Expert Q&A
I'm six months pregnant and last night I fell from our bed (about more than 2 feet high). Should I be concerned?
It is always best when you fall in pregnancy, especially when over your 20th week, to check in with your doctor. He or she may want you to go for fetal monitoring. Usually there is no risk to the baby unless you fell and hit your abdomen directly, however, sometimes just the jolt of the fall can cause the placenta to be disrupted which can sometimes be picked up by fetal monitoring at the office or hospital. Please notify your doctor of the fall.
