Expert Q&A
I have painful vulvar and leg varicose veins. What can be done?
Vulvar varicosities are very difficult to treat. There are elastic hoisery that can go up to the hips, but these garments are usually so uncomfortable that patients prefer to live with the varicosities. Leg varicosities are much easier to treat with elastic stockings. Bed rest and reduced activity will take some of the pressure off the veins as well. Tylenol can always be used for the worst moments.
