Expert Q&A
Question:
Is it okay to sleep on my tummy when I'm 23 weeks pregnant? My baby starts kicking me whenever I sleep on my back.
Answer:
It is best if you sleep on your left or right side. Once the baby gets long and heavy enough when you lie on your back, the baby may compress one of the major blood vessels going to your heart and decrease blood flow to you and the baby.

A small pillow or a body pillow placed behind your back may help prevent you from rolling on your back.
