Expert Q&A
Question:
My legs often feel really restless at night when I'm trying to sleep. Why?
Answer:
There are several potential causes for restless legs. One cause may be a calcium deficiency. If you are not consuming at least 1200mg of calcium per day you should increase your intake by eating foods high in calcium. Some of these are dairy products, fishes with bones (Salmon, Sardines), green leafy vegetables, almonds, and tofu.

This symptom can also occur if you are consuming too much caffiene in a day. Try to exclude coffee, tea, chocolate, and some sodas from your diet.

If these symptoms are due to stress you can try exercise, massage, heat, or relaxing lavender baths to relax these muscles.
