Expert Q&A
Question:
Is being overweight a risk to me and the baby?
Answer:
There are some risks for pregnant women who are markedly obese. Women who weigh more than 250 pounds have an increased risk of hypertension, diabetes and Cesarean section. It is also more difficult to determine the size and position of the fetus in obese women, and the delivery process can be more complicated.
