Expert Q&A
I feel very emotional. I get very weepy over the least little thing. Is this normal?
Pregnancy is a huge life event marked by changes in your hormones, body, and life circumstances. It's understandable that a combination of changes like this would make you feel very emotional. If the weepiness is not interfering with your overall level of functioning, keep some extra tissues handy and "ride out the storm" for now. Of course, it's always helpful to talk with a supportive person. Your emotions will probably settle down in the second trimester. However, if you know there are problematic issues that are contributing to your feelings, you might want to consult with a professional counselor.
