It has been proven time and time again that newborns should not be separated from their mothers whenever possible. If the mother's condition is not too serious - ie. she is capable of providing some modicum of care and attention to the infant - why would an educated society ever make the decision to separate them so soon after birth?? This is crazy.

I think if you're adopting the baby it's great.

I can't even believe this is something considered. It should only be up to the mothers not the hospitals or insurance companys.

baby needs mom from the time he or she is born, takin baby away might stress the baby as the baby knows moms scent very well!

It's areally hard decision to be seperated from your baby but the longer your in a hospital the more chance there is to pick up infections for both moter and infant.The baby's health should come first.
